Marketing ServicesWith the economy slowing down, marketing is more important than ever. Many businesses will not survive these times because they did not make efficient use of their marketing budget. I'm not the right person to create your marketing plan or strategy, and I'm certainly not going to challenge the skills and knowledge of marketing professionals. Photography After almost two decades of doing photography for the TS-Aligner product line, I have managed to acquire solid photographic skills and the professional equipment necessary to produce very respectable results. I'm certainly not going to be winning any awards or opening a gallery any time in the future, but I am more than happy to offer the use of my skills and equipment to those looking for a good value in the photographic arts. Some business products and services require a true artist when it comes to their photography. Most do not and cannot afford the higher cost that an artist commands. The photo below was used for The Wood Working Channel web site, for a printed ad in Wood Magazine, and for a printed product brochure (see below). All of the photos on this web site are mine. Video The opportunities to exploit the virtues of video have exploded over the last few years. Unfortunately, the cost of producing a professional quality video is still quite high. Some try their hand at it using consumer grade camcorders with resulting poor quality video, sound, and lighting. YouTube is packed full of examples of how a business, product, or service should not be represented. I chose to take a different path. Like photography, I have spent many years acquiring professional video equipment and the skills to use it properly. You won't see them at Sundance, but my videos are very high quality. They will not cause embarrassment or distract the viewer from the primary message. I am always hearing feedback from customers who appreciate the quality and clarity of the DVD they received from me. Web Design With a degree in Computer Science, I've always created my own web sites. The task is not difficult for me so I have never needed to hire someone else. But, I understand that the topic can be intimidating for many without a lot of computer experience. The fact is that a business without a web site is in big trouble these days. The Web is not a passing fad, it's absolutely necessary to do business in the 21st century. And, you don't want to accept the high costs and poor quality that telemarketers try to sell you. I have access to low cost, high quality, and very reliable web hosting services which have very reasonable rates. Take a look at this web site. I designed it, took all the photos, created all the files, and secured my own domain name. It costs me $29.95 per month and I don't use most of the resources available to me. I would be happy to do the same for you. Printed Media Below are a couple of examples of printed marketing materials that I have produced. Over the years I have created dozens of brochures for the TS-Aligner products. So I am completely familiar with basic layout and design principles. I am also well versed in desktop publishing software. I have worked with a number of commercial printers and magazine production departments. So, I'm not exactly a novice when it comes to tackling the printed media project.
This is a mailer I created for a local restaurant. I worked with the owner to determine what photos would be needed and proposed several layouts for his approval. I took all the photographs, designed the layout, and worked with the printer to arrange the mailing list, the bulk rate permit, and have the cards printed. The total cost was less than $1.00 for each card delivered to a local household.
